OK, so maybe you ARE hardcore enough to enter...
Welcome to my site. If you couldn't figure out from the intimidating page you
just visited, this is a site about my journey this year (and possibly the
following years), to eventually compete in the a bodybuilding contest in
May of 2005.
Why, then, did I create this web site last year? Well, it's to show every person
who stumbles upon this page that thinks no effort goes into achieving a certain
physique, and that all they have to do is lift weights. They will find out
how dedicated one must be in order to succeed at this sport. For
instance, I must now stop writing this intro in order to go cook some boneless,
skinless, grilled chicken on my George Foreman Grill, as 2 hours has passed
since my last meal. *20 minutes later* Well, that was a damn good meal.
That's one of the many differences I have. I eat every 2-3 hours. But,
that is only the tip of the iceberg. I have a diet in which I eat the exact
same foods, and know exactly how many calories I am consuming 7 days a week.
However, these are the things that a bodybuilder must do, so I do them. If you
wish to journey further, you will find out the true life of a bodybuilder. It's
more blood and guts than you could have ever imagined....
As of the 8th of September (2003), I will begin a bulking cycle. For those of
you who are not familiar with the term, "bulking" is when one takes in more
calories than is burned by the body. Therefore, at the end of the day, one is
left with a positive net caloric intake. The purpose is to create the ideal
enviornment for the body to build muscle. That ideal enviornment is having
a plentiful amount of nutrients available to the body at any and all times
during the day. However, in order for that criteria to be met, one will gain
a small amount of body fat. Of course, if you know what you are doing, that
fat can easily be burned off in a matter of weeks/months. So, I will be performing
a clean bulk starting the 8th of September. Logically, I will be burning the fat
off later, starting in January/February. This is known as "cutting." Cutting
is taking in less calories than your body burns, creating a negative net caloric
intake, thus allowing you to lose weight and body fat.
The cutting cycle will last until June, and then I will start all over again.
With that said, let's attempt to establish some form of an index:
